One of the top defensive backs in H-SC football history, Jack Barber was a three-time first team All-ODAC selection on the gridiron.  His 16 pass break-ups as a freshman in 1985 is still a H-SC record, as are his 35 career break-ups.  He was in H-SC's top ten in tackles all four years, including a career-best 66 as a senior. Barber returned punts and kickoffs all four years as well, and his 94-yard kickoff return in 1987 against Guilford is still a H-SC record.

As a lacrosse player, he was a first team All-ODAC midfielder in 1989, helping the Tigers to an 11-3 record and NCAA berth.  In addition, he was named an alternate for the North-South All-American game and an all-state selection.  His senior year lacrosse statistics included 17 goals and seven assists.

As a junior, Barber joined the Tiger basketball team, becoming the first three-sport athlete at H-SC in over 20 years.  He played in 24 of 25 games, averaging 4.6 points, and was named the team's Most Improved Player at the end of the season.

A native of Durham, North Carolina, Barber attended Woodberry Forest High School.  He is currently an investment manager for RCM Global Investors in San Francisco, CA.  He and his wife, Mary, have a son, Jackson, and another family member on the way.
