Purpose
The Hampden-Sydney College Athletic Hall of Fame was created in 1988 and is designed to honor men who have made outstanding contributions to Hampden-Sydney athletics and have helped bring recognition, honor, excellence and distinction to the College and its intercollegiate athletics program. Members are selected annually by the Hall of Fame Committee from nominations submitted by alumni and friends of the College. Submit your nomination and supporting information via email to either Director of Athletics Chad Eisele or Director of Athletic Communications Greg Prouty.

New LeHew Hall of Fame Gallery Dedicated October 25, 2008
The new LeHew Hall of Fame Gallery for Athletics, part of the expansion and renovation of Gammon Gymnasium, has been made possible by a gift of Dr. Willette L. LeHew '57 and his family. To the right is a picture of the Hall of Fame Gallery that features an interactive touch screen to look up any Hall of Fame Member. Additionally, each Hall of Famer has a plaque displayed with their picture and biography.

Class of 2025
The 38th class for the Athletic Hall of Fame includes two-time Golf All-American Brian Burt '16, two-time Lacrosse All-American Ward Smith '99 and three-time All-ODAC Basketball honoree Khobi Williamson '14, along with a Special Citation for former All-ODAC Basketball standout and current University of Virginia men's basketball head coach Ryan Odom '96. In addition, the 2005 Baseball Team that advanced to the 2005 NCAA Division III Championship World Series will also be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. This year's induction ceremony will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in Snyder Hall at the Kirk Athletic Center. 2025 Inductee Announcement
Class of 2024
The 37th class for the Athletic Hall of Fame includes a pair of Football All-Americans and three-year teammates, Nash Nance '15 and Holton Walker '15, along with Special Citations for their head coach and the program's all-time winningest coach, Marty Favret, as well as former Tigers Dickie Cralle '65 and Bill Moore '78, the latter two long-time benefactors of the school and football program. Class of 2023
The 36th class for the Athletic Hall of Fame includes two-time Football All-American Bill Doody '11, four-time All-ODAC Basketball honoree Harrison George '13, two-sport All-ODAC Baseball and Football honoree Tim Maxa '80 and Football All-American Will Riggenbach '11. In addition, Benton Downer '77, a founding member of Tiger Lacrosse, will receive a special citation. ***Inaugural Team Athletic Hall of Fame Class***
Hampden-Sydney announced its inaugural Team Athletic Hall of Fame Class that includes these exceptional former Tigers: the 1970 Football Team, the 1971 Football Team, the 1975 Golf Team, the 1998-99 Basketball Team and the 2002-03 Basketball Team. This first team induction ceremony will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House. 2023 Team Inductee Announcement
Class of 2022
The 35th class for the Athletic Hall of Fame includes five-time ODAC Men's Tennis singles and double champion Scott Goodman '82, two-time Men's Lacrosse All-American Doug Palmer '99 and Football All-American Ben Rogers '12. In addition, Cannon Watson, the Voice of the Tigers for 28 years, will receive a special citation. Class of 2021
The 34th class for the Athletic Hall of Fame includes three-time Lacrosse All-American Chris Biddison '03, Football All-American Trevor Ikwild '11, four-time ODAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year William Moss '10, and three-time All-ODAC Football standout Corey Sedlar '10. This year's induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Snyder Hall at the Kirk Athletic Center. 2021 Inductee Announcement
Class of 2020
The 33rd class for the Athletic Hall of Fame includes two-time Lacrosse All-American Ed Curry '95, four-time All-ODAC Basketball honoree Turner King '10, the late Mike Melvin '98, an All-Region and All-ODAC selection in Soccer, and three-time All-ODAC Football standout Josh Simpson '09. In addition, Norwood Davis '63, a 1,000-point career scorer in Basketball and long-time benefactor to the College, will receive a special citation. The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 7 p.m. in Snyder Hall at the Kirk Athletic Center. Hampden-Sydney inducted its 18th Athletic Hall of Fame class on November 5, 2005, in a special ceremony prior to the kickoff of the Tiger football game with Johns Hopkins University. Included in the Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2005 are a wrestling great and football player, a football All American, the first-ever soccer inductee and a former assistant coach who, after leaving Hampden-Sydney, achieved greatness on the gridiron as a head coach. 2005 Inductees
