The leading rebounder in Hampden-Sydney College basketball history, David Trumbower holds the H-SC record with 1,324 rebounds for his career.  Trumbower was twice named a second-team all-state selection and was team MVP three times and co-captain as a junior and senior.  He helped the Tigers to a 15-10 record as a senior.  As a sophomore, he finished sixth in the nation with his 19.4 rebounds-per-game average.  He also averaged 16.6 points-per-game and ranks among H-SC's top ten career scorers with 1,386 points.

Also a standout baseball player, in 1968 he was recognized as Hampden-Sydney's Freshman Athlete of the Year.  As a senior, Trumbower was co-captain and MVP of the baseball squad.

Originally from Lancaster, PA, Trumbower now lives in Roanoke with his wife, Vickie, and their three children.  He is principal of Green Valley Elementary School in Roanoke County.
