HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College (3-0, 1-0 ODAC) has been ranked No. 25 nationally with 53 points in this week's
American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) D3 Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl. It's the first time that the program has been ranked nationally by the AFCA since October 27, 2014 when the Tigers were ranked 22nd in the poll (6-1, 4-0).
H-SC, under the direction of second-year head coach
Vince Luvara, has won its first three games of the 2025 season while outscoring its opponents 118-47, including a 38-9 road win at (RV)Delaware Valley (PA) on September 6, a 38-31 home win past (RV)Washington & Jefferson (PA) on Sept. 13 and a 42-7 home win past Shenandoah in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener on Sept. 20. DelVal was receiving votes in both the AFCA and D3football.com Top 25, while W&J was receiving votes in the D3football.com poll at the time.
Defending NCAA Division III National Champion North Central (IL) (2-0) is ranked first with 1300 points and all 52 first place votes. The Cardinals are followed among the Top 10 by Mount Union (OH) (2-0), Johns Hopkins (MD) (3-0), St. John's (MN) (2-0), Salisbury (MD) (2-0), UW-Lacrosse (2-0), Hardin-Simmons (TX) (3-0), UW-Platteville (3-0), Wartburg (IA) (3-0) and UW-Whitewater (3-0).
Randolph-Macon (2-1, 1-0) and Christopher Newport (2-0) are the only other ODAC and/or Virginia schools receiving votes this week in the AFCA poll.

H-SC will play on the road at ODAC member Guilford (NC) College (1-2, 0-1) on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina.
