HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Sophomore
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a new collegiate-best and school-record time of 1:56.90 in the 800-meter run to lead Hampden-Sydney College on day two of the
2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Eastern Mennonite University at the new EMU Track Complex on Saturday afternoon in Harrisonburg. Herndon finished sixth among 22 runners in the 800, lowering his record time in the event for the fourth time in four races this spring.
Also competing on day two at the conference championships in the 1500-meter run were freshman
Jordan Chorbaji (Charlottesville) (4:20.88) and senior
Kade Minton (Wytheville) (4:35.11), who finished 14th and 23rd, respectively, among 24 runners. Minton ran new collegiate-best time for the event/distance in his final collegiate race for the Garnet & Grey.
The 1500 was won by the University of Lynchburg's Marko Kovacevic with a time of 3:58.96, while Lynchburg's Tor Hotung-Davidsen won the 800 with a new meet-record time of 1:50.71.
H-SC Distance Track has completed its 2025 outdoor season and could return as many as 12 Tigers for 2026. It was also the final competition under the direction of seventh-year Cross Country and Distance Track Head Coach
Matt Griswold, who had
announced his upcoming retirement on April 4.
