LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Junior
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a collegiate-best and new school-record time of 4:28.20 in the indoor mile run to lead Hampden-Sydney College at the
Liberty Kickoff on Friday hosted by NCAA Division I Liberty University at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg. Herndon finished 15th of 28 runners in the mile race that was won by unattached runner Braden Lofquest in 4:08.40.
Junior
Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) also participated in the indoor mile run and posted a time of 4:53.03 to place 24th. The race included eight runners from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), and Herndon was fourth among them, while Maldonado was sixth.
H-SC will compete again at the
Liberty Open on January 23-24, also at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg.
