LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Sophomore
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a new collegiate-best and school-record time of 1:57.54 in the outdoor 800-meter run, and freshman
Jordan Chorbaji (Charlottesville) posted a new collegiate-best and school-record time of 4:13.76 in the outdoor 1500-meter run, to lead Hampden-Sydney College at the annual
WildCat Invitational hosted by Randolph College on Saturday in Lynchburg. Herndon finished sixth among 24 runners in the 800, while Chorbaji placed fifth among 51 in the 1500.
Others competing in the 1500 were fifth-year team captain
Carter Burcham (Rockville) (4:25.15, 19th), senior team captain
Kade Minton (Wytheville) (4:35.86, 31st), sophomore
Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) (4:37.50, 34th) and freshman
Isaiah Leonard (Farmville) (5:20.35, 49th). Burcham, Minton and Leonard each ran new collegiate-best times for the event/distance, as well.
Also competing in the 800 were Burcham (2:11.76, 20th), sophomore
Davis Mills (Sanford, NC) (2:27.05, 23rd) and freshman
William Cole (Virginia Beach) (2:50.14, 24th).
H-SC will complete its season at the
2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Eastern Mennonite University on Friday and Saturday, April 25-26, at EMU's new track and field complex in Harrisonburg.
