LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Junior
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a collegiate-best and new school-record time of 1:55.80 in the indoor 800 meter run to lead Hampden-Sydney College at the
Liberty Open on Friday hosted by NCAA Division I Liberty University at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg.
Herndon finished third among 78 runners in the 800 that was won by UVA Club runner Ethan Lapier in 1:55.16. He lowered his previous best time for the distance by more than two seconds (1:58.07). Thomas Blach of The College of New Jersey posted a time of 1:53.49 to win the 800 Invite.
Junior
Dylan Evans (Virginia Beach) posted a time of 5:27.42 in the indoor mile to place 66th among 72 runners. Marian Drazan of Delaware State University won the event in 4:12.53, while Jimmy Mullarkey of North Carolina State University posted a time of 4:05.26 to win the Mile Invite.

Joe LaRocco hosted by Roanoke College on February 14 at the Cregger Center in Salem.
