American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) D3 Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl. The Tigers return to the poll after being ranked No. 21 back on September 29, before a 42-34 home setback to Washington and Lee University on October 4Â dropped them from the poll the following week.
H-SC, under the direction of second-year head coach
Vince Luvara, is 7-1 for the first time since 2011 and the seven wins equal the most season wins since 2014 (7-4). Defending NCAA Division III National Champion North Central (IL) (8-0) remains ranked first with 1300 points and all 52 first place votes. The Cardinals are followed among the Top 10 by Mount Union (OH) (8-0), Johns Hopkins (MD) (8-0), Salisbury (MD) (8-0), Hardin-Simmons (TX) (8-0), Bethel (MN) (8-0), Wartburg (IA) (9-0), UW-River Falls (7-1), St. John's (MN) (7-1) and UW-Lacrosse (6-1).
Christopher Newport (8-0) and Randolph-Macon (8-1, 7-0) are ranked No. 12 and No. 18, respectively, and are the only other Virginia and/or Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) schools ranked this week in the AFCA national poll.
