Carter Sido (Dallas, TX) have been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Football
Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, for week eight games played on October 25. They were selected for their outstanding efforts during the Tigers' 35-10 ODAC home win past Roanoke College on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium during Homecoming. It's the second time this season that Sido has earned the honor after his selection for
week four on September 28.
Robert Clarke had 10 tackles, including six solo, and career-highs of 3.5 tackles for loss with 3.0 sacks to lead a defense that had 12 tackles for loss with seven sacks against RC. He posted his three sacks in the first, third and fourth quarters—the latter two on third down plays that forced punts by the visitors. Clarke leads the Tigers with 50 tackles, including 22 solo, 7.5 for loss, 5.0 sacks, one interception and two pass breakups with two games of 10-plus tackles. Robert is tied for third in the ODAC in sacks, tied for fifth in tackles for loss and is 11th in tackles.
Carter Sido passed for a career-high and game-high 330 yards (17-25-1) and a game-high three touchdowns with one interception against the Maroons, adding 14 yards rushing on eight attempts. He led the Tigers to over 500 yards of total offense (533) for the fourth time this season, including the 330 yards passing and 203 yards rushing. Sido tossed a pair of 28-yard TDs to sophomore tight end
Kam Mahoney in the second and third quarters, respectively, along with a 33-yard score to senior wide receiver
Mason Cunningham. Carter leads the ODAC in passing yards (1,684), passing yards per game (240.6), passing touchdowns (22), passing efficiency (193.5), total offense (1,832) and total offense per game (261.7), and is second in completion percentage (96-154-6, 62.3).
H-SC (6-1, 4-1) is currently tied for second in the ODAC and plays on the road next weekend at conference opponent Gallaudet University (1-6, 1-5) on Saturday, November 1, at 1 p.m. in Washington, D.C. The Bison are associate members of the conference in football-only, beginning this year.
