ODAC WEEKLY GOLF REPORT
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College freshman
Jack Barnes (Manakin Sabot) has been named the
Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Golfer of the Week for the period April 10-16. Jack posted a six-over par 75-72-75--222 that tied for eighth among the 90 collegiate golfers at the
Cochran Collegiate on April 15-16 and played at the Colonial Country Club in Cordova, Tennessee near Memphis. He led the Tigers to a 54-hole team score of 906 (303-301-302) to finish in a tie for fifth among 18 teams. Barnes earned his fourth Top 10 finish with 15 pars during his final round on the par 72, 7,037-yard layout, and finished first among the tournament field in pars (41), tied for first in eagles (1) and tied for seventh in par 4 scoring (4.13, +4). Jack posted the rare eagle during round two, driving the green on the 320-yard, par 4 ninth hole, before draining an 84-foot putt for the eagle two.
Barnes is ranked No. 85 individually in NCAA Division III in the
SCOREBOARD powered by clippd rankings, including 46th in Region IV with his 74.18 scoring average through nine tournaments and 22 rounds of golf. He has two Top Five and four Top 10 finishes among seven Top 20 efforts overall. This is the second time this year that Jack has been named the
conference golfer of the week, as he earned the distinction last fall on September 13, as well.
H-SC, ranked No. 21 nationally this week, will play again at the
2024 ODAC Men's Golf Championships on April 28-30 on The Green Course at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg.
