HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College freshman
Jack Barnes (Manakin Sabot) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC)
Golfer of the Week for the period September 7-12.

Barnes, playing in his first collegiate tournament, led the Tigers' B Team at theÂ
Kinder-Williams Invitational on Sept. 11-12 at the Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg—posting an impressive three-under par 67-74--141 that placed him in a three-way tie for medalist honors among the 94 golfers, before falling in a two-hole playoff, on the par 72 layout that includes the Mountain and Lake courses. He posted two eagles, three birdies and 11 pars during his first collegiate round of five-under 67, and followed with three birdies and 11 pars in round two. Barnes helped the team to a two-day score of 285-300--585 to finish second among 17 teams.
The H-SC B Team will compete again at the
Glory Days Invitational on September 25 at the Winchester Country Club in Winchester.
