Head Coach Marty Favret
H-SC is led by the veteran head coach who is the second-winningest coach in school history with 134 victories (134-75), including 14 winning campaigns, while a five-time ODAC Coach of the Year. His program is 86-45 in ODAC games, while earning five ODAC Championships and making six NCAA Division III Football Championship playoff appearances.
The Series
H-SC leads the Oldest Small School Rivalry in the South, 60-53-11. The archrivals first met on the gridiron in 1893, as R-MC won that first meeting, 12-6, in the Tigers' second year as a program. H-SC, however, returned the favor in 1896 with a 24-0 shutout victory. Fast-forward, the Yellow Jackets have won six-straight and eight of the last nine games played between the two storied programs in the series, including last year's 45-3 home win in Ashland.H-SC is 10-10 against R-MC under head coach
Marty Favret, who won nine of the first 11 games he coached in the rivalry––including seven-straight from 2001-07. The Tigers' last win in the series was in 2013, a 28-26 road win, and their last win at home was in 2010, a 31-28 victory.

Last Game vs. Randolph-Macon (11/16/19, away)
Major Morgan had game-highs of seven receptions and 118 yards receiving, but H-SC dropped a 45-3 ODAC decision on the road at R-MC in the 124th edition of The Game at Day Field in Ashland. The host Yellow Jackets got 218 yards passing and two touchdowns from Burke Estes, and 143 yards rushing from Tre Frederick, and led 17-3 at halftime against the visiting Tigers.
Clay Vick finished with 166 yards passing (15-35), while
Kaleb Smith had 58 yards rushing on 23 carries, adding four receptions for 19 yards.
Blake Page contributed two catches for 18 yards.
Brendan Weinberg had a game-high and career-high 16 tackles for H-SC. Griffin Davis and
Brad Jeffers each added 12 tackles for the Tigers, while
Dallas Robinson and
Jacob Bayer each contributed 10 tackles.
Estes finished with a game-high 218 yards passing (15-17) and two touchdowns for R-MC, while Frederick added a game-high 143 yards rushing on 20 carries, along with 40 yards receiving and one touchdown. Jordan Foster had 49 yards rushing on five carries and one touchdown, Marcus Bazala had 37 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown, and Andrew Ihle had five yards on three carries and one touchdown. Trey Owens contributed 40 yards receiving on three catches and one touchdown. Steve McNair had six tackles for the Yellow Jackets.
Up Next
H-SC will play a final game this spring next weekend on either Friday, April 2, or on Saturday, April 3, depending on the outcome of today's game against R-MC. The opponent, location, date and time of the game will be announced by the ODAC Office this weekend.
