HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College recent graduate Will Palmer (Atlanta, GA) has been named a 2026 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-American. In addition, Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse has earned the USILA Team Academic Award for the sixth consecutive year.

"As a team, earning the USILA Team Academic Award is a great honor, especially with a roster of 65 men at H-SC, where our student-athletes have to work very hard academically to excel," said 10th-year head lacrosse coach Jason Rostan '03. "As a program, this is a great point of pride.

"Will led our team with high character, outstanding play on the field as one of the top goaltenders nationally, and excellent work as a student. USILA Scholar All-American is the most prestigious honor in our game, and we are very proud of Will for how he represents Tiger Lacrosse."

Will Palmer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and business with a minor in environmental studies, graduating on May 9 with Magna cum laude honors while attaining a 3.62 GPA. The Dean's List student was a recipient of the Hurt Science Scholars Program and the Presidential Scholarship, a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society, a two-time Academic All-District® At-Large Team member as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) and a soon to be four-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26). On the field, the team captain and goalie started all 19 games and played 949 minutes with 200 saves for a .563 save percentage and a 9.80 goals-against average, adding 25 ground balls and four caused turnovers. He had 12 games with at least 10 saves, including a career-high 17 stops on two occasions, most recently versus Roanoke College on March 21, and yielded three or less goals on three occasions when playing at least 30 minutes toward his 10 wins on the season. Will was a First Team All-ODAC selection, a USILA Honorable Mention All-American and played in the USILA Senior All-Star Game on May 22.

H-SC Lacrosse is one of 72 NCAA Division III schools to attain the 2026 Team Academic Award with its 3.18 cumulative Team GPA. The Tigers have been recognized each of the six years that teams have been honored by the USILA.
