Jackson Herndon Named To 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College junior Jackson Herndon (Chatham) has been named a member of the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for NCAA Division III. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Jackson is an engineering physics major and minors in mathematics with a 3.55 GPA. The Dean's List student is a recipient of the Middlecourt Scholarship, a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Young Life Christian Organization. He conducted summer research during 2024 on the Optoacoustic effect using thermal expansion, cavitation and di-electric breakdown, and is a soon to be three-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26). Jackson qualified for Academic All-District® with his distance track efforts in the 800-meter run, including his indoor school-record converted time of 1:54.89 at the 2026 ODAC Championships on March 1 in Salem, and his outdoor school-record time of 1:54.20 at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic on April 11 in Lynchburg. The indoor time ranked 10th in the Division III South Region Performance List compiled by the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS), and the outdoor time ranked 13th in the TFRRS South Region. In addition, Herndon established a new indoor record time of 4:28.20 in the mile, as well as a new outdoor record time of 3:57.86 in the 1500.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
