Groves Williams (Greenville, SC) posted a second-round score of two-over par 74 on Tuesday for a 36-hole score of 146 (72-74) to lead the Hampden-Sydney College C Golf team to a round of 304 and a two-day total of 613 (309-304) to tie for first place among 12 teams at the
Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial played at the Williamsburg Golf Club in Williamsburg. Williams finished second individually among the 73 collegiate golfers, as the Tigers tied with Roanoke College's B Team (313-300).

Williams posted four birdies and eight pars during his final round on the par 72, 6,745-yard layout, finishing with seven birdies (T-4th) and 20 pars (T-11th), and was followed by freshman
Hudson Griffin (Pinehurst, NC) (74-77—151, 8th), sophomore
Sean Acree (Chesterfield) (82-77—159, T-32nd), along with juniors
Joseph Weinstein (Midlothian) (84-76—160, T-38th) and
Nick Bernard (Southern Shores, NC) (81-83—164, T-50th). Griffin had two birdies and nine pars, finishing with one eagle (T-3rd), three birdies and 22 pars (T-3rd). Acree had three birdies and seven pars, finishing with six birdies (T-8th) and 12 pars. Weinstein had three birdies and 10 pars, finishing with four birdies and 17 pars. Bernard had one birdie and six pars, finishing with one eagle (T-3rd), three birdies and 14 pars.

The Tigers' B Team competed in the tournament, as well, and posted a final round of 300 for a 36-hole score of 622 (322-300) to finish fifth. Junior
Peyton Lambert (Hartfield) led the group with his two-day score of 75-75—150 to place seventh individually. He posted one eagle (par 5, 471-yard fourth), one birdie and 12 pars, finishing with two eagles (T-1st), two birdies and 22 pars (T-3rd), and was followed by older brother and senior
Pierce Lambert (Hartfield) (78-74—152, T-9th), along with seniors
Jack Hoyle (Midlothian) (84-77—161, T-22nd),
Cole Wright (Wake Forest, NC) (89-74—163, T-48th) and
Jack Davis (Radford) (85-80—165, T-55th).
Pierce Lambert had three birdies and 10 pars, finishing with one eagle (T-3rd), five birdies (T-14th) and 18 pars. Hoyle had four birdies and five pars, finishing with six birdies (T-8th) and 11 pars. Wright had three birdies and 10 pars, finishing with four birdies and 16 pars. Davis had three birdies and five pars, finishing with three birdies and 14 pars.

Freshman
Michael Parash (Southampton, NY), who enjoyed the first
Hole-In-One of his golfing career during round one with an eight-iron from 167 yards on the par 3 fifth hole, played as an individual and posted a two-round score of 80-77—157 that tied for 25th individually. In addition to his rare hole-in-one (eagle, T-3rd), he finished with four birdies and 16 pars.

Fischer Leggitt of Christopher Newport University took individual medalist honor at one-over par 72-73—145.
