Oliver Tobin (Charlotte, NC) posted a final-round score of one-under par 71 on Sunday to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a round of four-over par 292 and a 54-hole score of 11-over par 875 (291-292-292) to finish 17th among the 30 teams at the
Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational played at the Jekyll Island Golf Club in Georgia. Junior
Luke Combs (Newport News)Â (70-70-76) and sophomore
Garnett Hall (Richmond) (70-74-72) led the Tigers with their respective three-day scores of 216 to tie for 51st individually among the 150 collegiate golfers.
Combs and Hall were followed by Tobin (75-75-71—221, T-77th), junior team captain
Jack Barnes (Manakin Sabot) (76-73-73—222, T-83rd) and junior
Peyton Lambert (Hartfield) (81-78-80—239, T-143rd). Tobin had four birdies and 11 pars during his final round at the par 72, 6,730-yard Pine Lakes course, finishing with eight birdies and 33 pars. Combs had three birdies and 10 pars, finishing with 10 birdies and 36 pars. Hall had three birdies and 12 pars, finishing with 13 birdies and 32 pars. Barnes had four birdies and nine pars, finishing with eight birdies and 34 pars. Lambert had 11 pars, finishing with four birdies and 26 pars.
Combs tied for 15th among the tournament field in pars (36) and tied for 21st in par 4 scoring (3.97, -1). Hall tied for 24th in birdies (13).

SCOREBOARD powered by clippd NCAA Division III Men's Golf rankings, including nine of the Top 10, as top-ranked Huntingdon (AL) College won the event its 38-under par 271-277-278—826. Turner Chiles of sixth-ranked Sewanee (TN) took individual medalist honors at 16-under par 64-68-68—200.
H-SC will play again at the two-day, 54-hole
Capitol City Invitational on April 6-7 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill in Prattville, Alabama.
