LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Junior Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a  collegiate-best and new school-record time of 1:54.58 in the outdoor 800 meter run to lead Hampden-Sydney College at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational on Saturday hosted by the University of Lynchburg at the Shellenberger Field & Dr. Jack M. Toms Track in Lynchburg. Herndon finished sixth among 73 runners in the event that was won by Kasy Science of NAIA member the University of Rio Grande (OH) with a time of 1:51.40.

Freshman Jack Ruble (Floyd) also competed in the outdoor 800, the first time as a Tiger, and posted a collegiate-best time of 2:23.62 to finish 72nd.

Junior Dylan Evans (Virginia Beach) posted a collegiate-best time of 4:49.39 in the 1500 Meter Open to place 49th among 54 runners. Corbin Green of the University of Lynchburg won the event with his time of 4:04.43.

H-SC will compete again at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by Lynchburg on April 10-11 at the Shellenberger Field & Dr. Jack M. Toms Track in Lynchburg.
