NELLYSFORD, Va. – Hampden-Sydney College sophomore Garnett Hall (Richmond) posted an opening round score of one-under par 71 to lead the Tigers during the first day of competition in the individuals-only Knights Invitational golf tournament on Monday at the Wintergreen Resort's Stoney Creek Golf Course in Nellysford.

Hall is tied for first individually among the 57 collegiate golfers at the par 72, 6,713-yard layout, posting three birdies and 12 pars on the day. He is being followed by freshman Mike Parash (Southampton, NY) (74, T-7), freshman Hudson Griffin (Pinehurst, NC) (75, T-9) and senior Jack Craig (Raleigh, NC) (75, T-9), senior Pierce Lambert (Hartfield) (77, T-14), junior Tucker Poole (Norfolk) (83, T-31), senior Cole Wright (Wake Forest, NC) (87, T-41) and freshman Sam Hahn (Richmond) (87, T-41), senior Jack Davis (Radford) (89, T-46) along with junior Tucker Smith (Richmond) (90, T-49).

The two-day, 36-hole event will continue and conclude on Tuesday in Nellysford.
