RACE RESULTS
FARMVILLE, Va. -- Junior
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted an 8K time of 30:16.2 to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a fourth-place finish at the
Lancer Home Open hosted by nearby NCAA Division I Longwood University on Saturday morning at the former Longwood Golf Course in Farmville. Herndon placed 12th among 36 runners as the Tigers totaled 82 points to finish fourth among four teams. Longwood won the team race with its 24 points, while Rodgers Korir of Division II Virginia Union University was the individual winner with a time of 26:41.1.
Herndon was followed by sophomore
Jordan Chorbaji (Charlottesville) (32:17.0, 22nd), senior
Winston Ransone (Midlothian) (33:37.0, 25th), and juniors
Dylan Evans (Virginia Beach) (33:38.5, 26th) and
Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) (36:48.7, 28th) among the Tigers' top five, along with fifth-year
Zach Eason (Boydton) (44:57.6, 36th).
H-SC will race again at the
Bridgewater Cross Country Invitational, an 8K event hosted by Bridgewater College on Saturday, September 20, at 10 a.m. in Bridgewater.
