RACE RESULTS
SALEM, Va. -- Junior
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a season-best 8K time of 27:16.9 to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a 14th-place finish at the
Roanoke Invitational/South Region Showdown on Saturday morning at Green Hill Park in Salem. Herndon placed 70th among a large field of 239 runners as the Tigers totaled 415 points to finish 14th among 21 teams. NCAA Division I East Tennessee State University won the team race with its 34 points, while ETSU's Jason Bowers was the individual winner with a time of 23:19.2.
Herndon posted the 12th-best time for the distance in program history, and was followed by sophomore
Jordan Chorbaji (Charlottesville) (28:42.6, 124th), junior
Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) (28:59.7, 138th), senior
Winston Ransone (Midlothian) (29:44.9, 163rd) and junior
Dylan Evans (Virginia Beach) (30:18.7, 172nd) among the Tigers' top five. Also competing were junior
Davis Mills (Sanford, NC) (36:38.6, 228th) and freshman
Jack Ruble (Floyd) (36:59.9, 229th). Chorbaji, Maldonado, Evans and Mills each ran season-best times for the distance, as well.
H-SC will race again at the
2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships, an 8K event hosted by Bridgewater College on Saturday, November 1, at 10 a.m. in Bridgewater.
