RACE RESULTS
SALEM, Va. -- Junior
Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) posted a collegiate-best 8K time of 28:13.0 to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a 20th-place finish at the
2025 NCAA Division III South Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at Green Hill Park in Salem. Maldonado placed 111th among 170 runners as the Tigers totaled 572 points to finish 20th among 24 teams. Washington and Lee University won the team race with its 39 points, while the University of Lynchburg's Alex Jordan was the individual winner with a time of 24:15.20.
Maldonado was followed by junior
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) (28:19.20, 114th), senior
Winston Ransone (Midlothian) (28:28.20, 118th), sophomore
Jordan Chorbaji (Charlottesville) (28:34.60, 122nd), along with junior
Dylan Evans (Virginia Beach) (31:33.70, 147th) among the Tigers' top five. Also competing were junior
Davis Mills (Sanford, NC) (35:07.90, 164th) and freshman
Jack Ruble (Floyd) (37:09.60, 167th). Ransone, Chorbaji and Mills each ran a season-best time for the distance.
H-SC has completed its 2025 campaign under the direction of first-year head coach
Jared Deaton with its competition at the NCAA South Regional.
