RACE RESULTS
FARMVILLE, Va. -- Junior
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a season-best 8K time of 27:35.90 to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a seventh-place finish at the
Cross Country Meeting at Berry on Saturday morning in Mount Berry, Georgia. Herndon placed 15th among 99 runners as the Tigers totaled 182 points among the 11 teams. The host Vikings won the team race with their 35 points, while Berry College alum Cameron Bensley was the individual winner with a time of 25:24.20.
Herndon posted the 25th-best 8K time in program history and was followed by sophomore
Jordan Chorbaji (Charlottesville) (28:57.33, 26th), juniors
Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) (30:04.49, 41st) and
Dylan Evans (Virginia Beach) (32:23.50, 61st), along with freshman
Jack Ruble (Floyd) (35:24.91, 79th). Chorbaji, Maldonado and Ruble each ran season-best times for the distance, as well.
H-SC will race again at the
Roanoke Cross Country Invite, an 8K event hosted by Roanoke College on Saturday, October 18, at 10:30 a.m. in Salem.
