Hampden-Sydney Finishes Sixth At The 2025 ODAC Cross Country Championships

BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Junior Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted an 8K time of 27:31.8 to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a sixth-place finish at the 2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at the Bridgewater College Course in Bridgewater. Herndon placed 35th among 107 conference runners as the Tigers totaled 192 points to finish sixth among 10 teams. It equals the sixth-place finish of last fall (2024), which matched the highest placing at the conference championships since 2008. Washington and Lee University won the team race with its 27 points, while W&L's Sam Daunt was the individual winner with a time of 25:36.9.

Herndon posted the 23rd-best time for the distance in program history as he now owns six of the Top 50 times. He was followed by sophomore Jordan Chorbaji (Charlottesville) (28:43.4, 56th), senior Winston Ransone (Midlothian) (29:32.4, 69th), along with juniors Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) (29:39.9, 70th) and Dylan Evans (Virginia Beach) (31:29.8, 86th) among the Tigers' top five. Also competing was freshman Jack Ruble (Floyd) (36:59.3, 100th) and junior Davis Mills (Sanford, NC) (41:26.4, 106th). Ransone ran a season-best time for the distance.

H-SC will race again at the 2025 NCAA South Regional Championships, an 8K event hosted by Roanoke College on Saturday, October 18, at 11 a.m. at Green Hill Park in Salem.
