ODAC RELEASE
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College has been picked fifth in the
2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Soccer Preseason Poll. The Tigers garnered 79 points for fifth among the 12 schools. H-SC finished 9-6-3 last season and 6-2-2 in the ODAC, making the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament.
Lynchburg and Washington and Lee tied in first place with 116 points and each receiving six of the 12 first-place votes, followed by Virginia Wesleyan with 96 points, and Roanoke garnered 92 points to round out the top four. After the Tigers are Shenandoah (67), Randolph-Macon (65), Bridgewater (45), Eastern Mennonite (42), Averett (33), Randolph (28), and Guilford (NC) (13).
"We are looking forward to what we believe could be a historic fall season for our program," said head coach
Tommy DiNuzzo.
Coach DiNuzzo enters his ninth season at the helm of the Tigers. During his time, he has a 66-48-20 record and a 39-24-11 ODAC record, including two unbeaten campaigns in the conference in 2019 and the 2021 spring season.
DiNuzzo is joined by third-year assistants,
Andrew Longhurst and
Yugo Suzuki.
The Tigers will be led by three returning All-ODAC selections in Second Team selections
Charlie Letson (Wilmington, NC) and
Jaques Lavielle (Cary, NC), along with Third Team selection
Walker Stebbings (Forest). In addition, the Tigers return 24 of 30 lettermen from a team that finished fourth in the ODAC last season.
H-SC opens the 2025 season at Hellmuth-Gibson Field against Southern Virginia University on Friday, August 29, at 6 p.m.
