HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College got goals from four different goalscorers to defeat non-conference opponent Marymount University 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Hellmuth-Gibson Field.
It took just over three minutes for the Tigers to open their tally, as sophomore
Kevin Nova Euceda (Woodbridge) hit a free kick through the wall and into the bottom left corner. H-SC doubled its tally in the 35th minute, as senior
Mason Dudley (Virginia Beach) won the ball back and played the ball into space for freshman
Ubaid Wasi (Meherrin) to run onto and chip over a sliding goalie to push the advantage to 2-0 going into halftime.
The Tigers wasted no time in the second half adding to their tally, as just over six minutes in, junior
Tyler Petz (Cary, NC) picked up a loose ball on the outside of the box and drove towards the goal line before his cross found senior
Charlie Letson (Wilmington, NC) for the sliding finish. H-SC closed the scoring in the 76th minute, as senior
Michael Farmer (Virginia Beach) won the ball back on the edge of the box and crossed it to senior
Pierce Boerner (Midlothian) for the easy open net goal to secure a 4-0 win.
Freshman
Stig Larson (Richmond) earned the win in net, and secured a shutout while making one save.
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, September 6, when they play host to Covenant (GA) College at 2 p.m. at Hellmuth-Gibson Field.
