HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Senior forward Pierce Boerner (Midlothian) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played during the weekend of August 29-September 1. Pierce scored two goals and added two assists to help Hampden-Sydney College to a 2-0 start to the season.

Boerner got his weekend and season started with a one-goal and two-assist performance in the 5-1 win over Southern Virginia University on Friday, August 29. He followed it up with a one-goal performance in the 4-0 win over Marymount University on Sunday, August 30.

Boerner's two goals are tied for the team and conference lead, while his two assists rank him second on the team and in the conference.

Pierce and the rest of the Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, September 6, when they play host to non-conference opponent Covenant (GA) College at 2 p.m. at Hellmuth-Gibson Field.
