LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Fifth-year team captain
Carter Burcham (Rockville) posted a collegiate-best and school-record time of 34:37.24 in the outdoor 10,000-meter run on Friday night to lead Hampden-Sydney College on day one at the
Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic being hosted by the University of Lynchburg at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Track in Lynchburg. Burcham finished 10th among 14 runners while competing in the event/distance for the first time in his collegiate career.
Additionally, freshman
Jordan Chorbaji (Charlottesville) posted a collegiate-best time of 4:26.17 in the outdoor 1500-meter run to finish 42nd among 64 runners. Also competing in the 1500 were senior team captain
Kade Minton (Wytheville) (4:40.75, 54th) and freshman
Isaiah Leonard (Farmville) (5:22.85, 63rd).
H-SC will continue and complete its competition at the
Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic with five Tigers competing in the 800-meter run on Saturday, April 12, at 2:45 p.m. in Lynchburg.
