LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Sophomore
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a new collegiate-best and school-record time of 1:58.10 in the outdoor 800-meter run on Saturday afternoon to lead Hampden-Sydney College on day two at the
Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Track in Lynchburg. Herndon finished 29th among 94 runners while lowering his own previous record time of 1:58.35 that he had posted on two occasions, including at the same track two weeks ago on March 29.
Others competing in the 800 were senior
Kevin Busch (Greensboro, NC) (2:26.60, 91st), sophomore
Davis Mills (Sanford, NC) (2:36.46, 93rd) and freshman
William Cole (Virginia Beach) (2:48.24, 94th). Freshman
Tristan Merritt (Charlotte, NC) started the race, but did not finish. Busch posted a new collegiate-best time for the event/distance, as well.
H-SC will compete again at the
WildCat Invitational hosted by Randolph College on Saturday, April 19, at the WildCat Stadium in Lynchburg.
