Brandon Hyde Named To 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men's Swimming And Diving Team

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. --
Senior Brandon Hyde (Thousand Oaks, CA) has been named a member of the 2024-25 Academic All-District Team® Men's Swimming and Diving Team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) for NCAA Division III. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
 
Brandon Hyde is a double major in Biology and History at the college with a minor in Asian Studies with a 3.53 GPA. Hyde is a four-year team member and was a team captain during the 2023-24 season. In the pool, Hyde ranks in the top 10 in program history in both the 100 Yard Backstroke and 200 Yard Backstroke. Out of the pool, Hyde is a Dean's List student and a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) All-Academic Team. He is President of the History Club, Vice President of the Reenactment Club, and a Phi Alpha Theta (National History Honor Society) member. He earned the Victor Cabas Award in 2022 for the best essay in the Rhetoric 101 class.
 
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 22, 2025 (women) and April 23, 2025 (men).

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
 
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable). No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
