SALEM, Va. -- Sophomore
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a collegiate-best and new school-record time of 1:58.07 in the indoor 800-meter run on Sunday to lead Hampden-Sydney College at the
2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Roanoke College on Saturday and Sunday at the Cregger Center in Salem. Herndon finished fifth among 22 runners in the 800, and posted a new record time in the event for the third time in four weeks as the program completed its indoor season.
The Tigers' distance medley relay team consisting of senior team captain
Kade Minton (Wytheville) (1200, 3:29.54), sophomore Jefferson Duffey (Keysville) (400, 56:52), Herndon (800, 2:01.77) and fifth-year team captain Carter Burcham (Rockville) (1600, 4:45.92) posted a new DMR school-record time of 11:13.75 on Saturday night, finishing sixth of 11 teams.
Additionally, sophomore
Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) posted a new collegiate-best time of 4:50.80 in the indoor mile on Sunday to place 18th among 22 runners.
H-SC will begin its outdoor season at the
Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Lynchburg on March 28-29 in Lynchburg.
