FINAL RESULTS
FARMVILLE, Va. -- The Hampden-Sydney College B Golf Team posted a final round score of 305 on Sunday for a 36-hole team score of 297-305—602 to finish second among seven teams at the Manor Spring Invitational hosted by H-SC and played at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville. Freshman
Garnett Hall (Richmond) led the B Team with his four-over par 74-74—148 that placed fourth among the 35 collegiate golfers.
Hall finished first among the tournament field in pars (28) on the par 72, 6,647-yard layout, while fourth in par 4 scoring (4.15, +3), tied for fifth in par 3 scoring (3.13, -1) and 10th in par 5 scoring (5.00, E). He was followed on the B Team by sophomore
Peyton Lambert (Hartfield) (75-76—151, T-7th), senior
Knox Sirmans (Rome, GA) (74-79—153, T-10th), junior
Pierce Lambert (Hartfield) (78-76—154, T-13th) and sophomore
Joseph Weinstein (Midlothian) (74-81—155, T-15th).
Peyton Lambert tied for third in pars (23) and par 5 scoring (4.75, -2), and tied for fifth in par 3 scoring (3.13, -1).
Knox Sirmans tied for fifth in par 5 scoring (4.88, -1) and tied for seventh in par 4 scoring (4.25, +5).
Pierce Lambert tied for fifth in par 3 scoring (3.13, -1). Weinstein tied for ninth in pars (21).
The Tigers' D Team also competed and posted a final round score of 315 for a 36-hole team score of 313-315—628 to finish fourth. Freshman
Sean Acree (Chesterfield) led the D Team with his three-over par 74-73—147 that placed third individually. He was followed by junior
Jack Davis (Radford) (76-80—156, T-17th), sophomore
Tucker Poole (Norfolk) (79-81—160, 22nd), junior
Jack Craig (Raleigh, NC) (84-81—165, T-27th) and sophomore
Walker Sirmans (Rome, GA) (92-94—186, 34th). Acree led the tournament field in par 5 scoring (4.50, -4), tied for first in eagles (1), tied for third in birdies (6) and tied for seventh in par 4 scoring (4.25, +5).
The Tigers' C Team also competed and posted a final round score of 323 for a 36-hole team score of 306-323—629 to finish fifth. Sophomore
Nick Bernard (Southern Shores, NC) led the C Team with his 75-80—155 that tied for 15th individually. He was followed by sophomore
Owen Sibley (Dallas, TX) (76-82—158, T-20th), junior
Cole Wright (Wake Forest, NC) (75-79—162, T-23rd), junior
Jack Hoyle (Midlothian) (85-78—163, T-25th) and senior
Brody Smith (Yorktown) (82-83—165, T-27th). Bernard tied for fifth in par 5 scoring (4.88, -1) and tied for seventh in birdies (5). Sibley tied for fifth in par 3 scoring (3.13, -1) and tied for seventh in birdies (5). Smith tied for first in eagles (1).
The Methodist (NC) University B Team won the event with its 288-302—590, while two MU golfers tied at one-over par 145, including David D'Agostino (69-76) and Lucas Herring (70-75)—Herring won a three-hole playoff for individual medalist honors.
The H-SC B & C Teams will complete their seasons at the Glen Heath Shipbuilders Memorial Tournament on April 15-16, a 36-hole event to be played at the Williamsburg Golf Club in Williamsburg.
