LYNCHBURG, Va. – Sophomore
Jackson Herndon (Chatham) posted a collegiate-best and new school-record time of 2:01.13 in the indoor 800-meter run to lead Hampden-Sydney College at the
Liberty Open on Saturday hosted by NCAA Division I Liberty University at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg. Herndon finished 49th of 127 in the 800.
Others competing in the 800 were senior
Kade Minton (Wytheville) (2:15.48, 109th), sophomore
Jefferson Duffey (Keysville) (2:27.01, 120th), senior
Kevin Busch (Greensboro, NC) (2:37.58, 126th) and sophomore
James Cosenza (Fairfax Station) (2:54.57, 127th). Duffey and Busch each ran new collegiate-best times for the indoor distance, as well.
Additionally, sophomore
Kam Maldonado (Palm Bay, FL) participated in the indoor mile (5:01.26, 103rd).
H-SC will compete again at the
Joe Larocco Invitational hosted by Roanoke College on Saturday, February 15, at the Bast-Cregger Fieldhouse in Salem.
