Grayson Schultz Named 2025-26 Hampden-Sydney Basketball Team Captain

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College seventh-year head basketball coach Caleb Kimbrough has announced that senior guard Grayson Schultz (Moseley) was recently voted by his teammates as the program's 2025-26 Team Captain.

"Grayson embodies everything we want a Hampden-Sydney Tiger to be," said Kimbrough. "However, his path hasn't been traditional. He started as a manager, earned his way onto the roster, and now his teammates have chosen him to lead them. That says everything about his work ethic, humility, and consistency. Grayson shows up every day with toughness, gratitude, and a team-first mindset. He's earned the respect of this program because he lives our standard, not just talks about it, I'm incredibly proud of him, and our team is in great hands with him as our captain."

Schultz is a second-year team member serving in this important leadership role for the first time. He was a team manager during his first two years at the College, before officially joining the team for last season (2024-25). Grayson is the son of Glenn and Paige Schultz and is majoring in economics and business at the College.

H-SC is idle for fall semester examinations this week and will return to action next weekend when hosting the H-SC Holiday Classic presented by Elder, Friedman & Allen on December 19-20 on the new Tony Shaver Court in Diaz Arena at the renovated Kirby Field House. The Tigers will play Wilson (PA) on Friday, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m., before playing (10)Redlands (CA) on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 3:30 p.m. (13)Roanoke is also participating in the event.
