SWEET BRIAR Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College fell in non-conference action to William Peace (NC) University 119-34 on Friday night at Prothro Natatorium.

The Tigers completed one of the two relay events, taking the top spot in the 200 Meter Freestyle Relay with a time of 2:05.06 from the foursome of juniors Mason Brooking (Orange) and Owen Renfrow (Bowling Green, KY), and freshmen Ryan Barnett (Killeen, TX) and Nikolias Theriault (Poland, ME).

H-SC started individual events with the 200 Meter Freestyle, where Theriault was the only swimmer finishing 4th with a time of 3:08.97.

Brooking was the only Tiger competing in the 50 Meter Freestyle, taking third place with a time of 27.53.

Renfrow grabbed a second-place finish in the 200 Meter IM, as his time of 2:32.42 was .04 off the top spot.

Barnett was the lone Tiger in the 100 Meter Butterfly, grabbing a second-place finish with a time of 1:43.26.

Theriault came home in fourth place in the 100 Meter Freestyle with his time of 1:17.05.

Senior Jackson Piazza (Birmingham, AL) was the lone swimmer for H-SC in the final two events, taking second place in the 100 Meter Backstroke with a time of 1:17.25 and second place in the 100 Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:28.77.

The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, October 24, when they take on Roanoke College at 5 p.m. in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.
