ASHLAND, Va. -- Sophomore
Quinlan Ragsdale (Charlottesville) secured two second place finishes for Hampden-Sydney College as they competed against Randolph-Macon College on Friday evening at the Estes Aquatic Center.
Ragsdale's second place finishes came in the 100 Yard Backstroke and 100 Yard Freestyle, both of which he was just over a second away from claiming victory.
Junior
Owen Renfrow (Bowling Green, KY) posted season-best times in Yards in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, 200 Yard Breaststroke, and 200 Yard IM. His times in the events were 1:09.17 in the 100 Breaststroke, 2:35.50 in the 200 Breaststroke, and 2:24.50 in the 200 IM.
Freshman
Ryan Barnett (Killeen, TX) was also setting season-best times in the meet, with those coming in the 200 Yard Freestyle, the 50 Yard Freestyle, and the 100 Yard Butterfly. In the 200 Freestyle, his time of 2:34.91 was an improvement of 1.66 seconds, and his 100 Butterfly time of 1:22.20 was an improvement of 7.39 seconds on his previous season best.
Freshman
Nikolias Theriault (Poland, ME) set two season best times in the meet, the first in the 50 Yard Freestyle, and the second in the 500 Yard Freestyle. His 500 Freestyle time of 7:44.10 was a 6.62-second improvement from his previous best in the event.
As a team, Renfrow, Ragsdale, Barnett, and Theriault took two third place finishes in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. The medley relay saw them post a time of 2:01.22, while they finished the Freestyle Relay in 1:48.51.
The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, November 21, for the first of three days of the Yellow Jacket Invitational. Friday is slated to begin at 2 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday start at 10 a.m.
