Hampden-Sydney B/C Golf Teams Compete At The Glory Days/SU Invitational

FINAL RESULTS

WINCHESTER, Va. --
Junior Joseph Weinstein (Midlothian) posted a 36-hole score of 77-73—150 on Monday (September 29) to lead the Hampden-Sydney College C Golf Team to a score of 320-300—620 and an eighth-place finish among 14 teams at the Glory Days/SU Invitational played at the Winchester Country Club in Winchester. Weinstein tied for 20th individually among the 79 collegiate golfers.

Weinstein had one eagle (267-yard, par-4 10th), four birdies and 19 pars during his two rounds at the 6,367-yard, par 71 layout, tying for first among the tournament field in eagles and finishing fourth in par 4 scoring (3.95, -1). He was followed on the C Team by senior Pierce Lambert (Hartfield) (79-73—152, T-28th), freshman Sam Hahn (Richmond) (79-78—157, T-47th), along with seniors Jack Hoyle (Midlothian) (85-76—161, T-56th) and Jack Davis (Radford) (85-85—170, 70th). Pierce Lambert had three birdies and 22 pars, tying for seventh among the field in pars. Hahn had four birdies and 18 pars. Hoyle had three birdies and 19 pars. Davis had one birdie and 12 pars.

The H-SC B Golf Team also competed in the event and was led by freshman Michael Parash (Southampton, NY) who posted a 36-hole score of 73-81—154 to lead the B squad to a score of 330-337—667 and a 14th-place finish. Parash tied for 36th individually among the field of 79, and had three birdies and 21 pars on the day. He was followed by junior Peyton Lambert (Hartfield) (79-83—162, T-59th), freshman Ryan Smith (Atlanta, GA) (85-87—172, T-72th), along with juniors Owen Sibley (Dallas, TX) (93-86—179, T-77th) and Walker Sirmans (Rome, GA) (94-94—188, 79th). Peyton Lambert had three birdies and 16 pars. Smith had one birdie and 11 pars. Sibley had one eagle (519-yard, par 5 15th) and 13 pars, tying for first among the tournament field in eagles. Sirmans had one birdie and nine pars.

NCAA Division II Chowan (NC) College won the tournament with a 36-hole team score of 283-293—576, while Chase Myers of Averett University took individual medalist honors at six-under par 70-66—136.

The H-SC B/C Teams will compete again next month at the 36-hole VSGA Intercollegiate on October 20-21 at the Lake Chesdin Golf Club in Chesterfield.
