Hampden-Sydney Announces Upcoming 2024-25 Basketball Schedule

9/26/2024 2:50:00 PM

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College sixth-year head basketball coach Caleb Kimbrough has announced his program's upcoming 2024-25 Schedule that features 16 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) games among the 25 regular season contests. After finishing as the NCAA Division III National Championship Runner-Up last season, Coach Kimbrough is once-again challenging his squad with seven opponents—four non-conference—that participated in the NCAA Tournament a year ago. The defending ODAC Tournament Champion Tigers will find out immediately if they're up to the challenge again as their first three games are against schools that advanced to the postseason last March.

"We are excited about the challenges that our schedule presents," said Kimbrough. "We know we will be tested early and that is exactly what we want. Just like any other year, we want to challenge ourselves in non-conference play in an attempt to prepare for the rigor of the ODAC. We have eight newcomers on the roster, but our goals remain the same. We won't put any limits on what this team can do. Should be a fun year!"

H-SC completed 2023-24 with a final overall record of 31-3, a new school record for wins, and won its record 11th ODAC Tournament Championship while playing in a record 16th ODAC Tournament Title contest. It was the Garnet & Grey's finest season in 25 years (1998-99, National Runner-Up, 29-3), attaining their first 30-win season and only the sixth 25-win season in program history, also the 17th overall 20-win season and the second consecutive 20-win effort to mark the first time since 2002-03 (28-4) and 2003-04 (25-5) with back-to-back 20-win seasons.

The Tigers feature nine returning team members, including one starter in All-American and fifth-year guard Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC), while the coaching staff has added another talented recruiting class of eight newcomers for the upcoming season.
