Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

(#4 Seed) Hampden-Sydney Falls To (#1 Seed) (1)Randolph-Macon 69-41 In 2026 ODAC Tournament Semifinals

BOX SCORE

SALEM, Va. --
Sophomore guard Tugg Bizzelle (Baltimore, MD) scored 12 points off the bench, and sophomore guard Peter Moye (Charlotte, NC) added eight points, four rebounds and two assists, but Hampden-Sydney College dropped a 69-41 decision to nationally-ranked No. 1 Randolph-Macon College in the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Basketball Tournament Semifinals on Friday evening at the Salem Civic Center in Salem. The #4 seed Tigers led 27-26 at halftime, but the #1 seed Yellow Jackets outscored the Garnet & Grey 43-14 in the second half for the win. H-SC completes its season with a final record of 17-10, while RMC improved to 25-2, and was led by Theo Antinori with a game-high 15 points off the bench and 13 points from Malcolm Hodges.

"I'm proud of this group," said seventh-year head coach Caleb Kimbrough. "Fighting for a four seed and making it to the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament is not easy, and we did it with a young group that grew up a lot this season. But I also want to be clear … it's not okay to lose the way we did today. It's not okay to fall short of the standard we've set in this program. We don't measure ourselves by effort alone. We measure ourselves by growth and by results. The encouraging part is that we're not far. This season built something. Our young core now understands what this stage feels like. They understand the physicality, the detail, the toughness required to win in March. Adversity either exposes you or prepares you. I believe it prepared us. This one hurts and it should hurt. That means we care. But this program isn't defined by one season. It's defined by how we respond. We'll take this personally. We'll grow from it. And we'll be back."

H-SC led 4-2 just 1:23 into the contest after baskets by freshman guard Tyree White (Indian Trail, NC) and sophomore guard Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC). The Tigers trailed 8-7 at 16:08 following a three-point field goal by senior guard/forward Kolby Wright (Cookeville, TN), and were within 13-11 after a basket down low by junior guard William Britt (Richmond) with 12:31 on the first-half clock. RMC extended its lead to 20-13 at 9:07 after a layup from Delani Hammonds, but H-SC responded with a 10-2 run to lead 23-22 at 4:18 following two free throws by Wright. Bizzelle started the run with a three-pointer, while Moye added a basket in the lane and senior guard Colin Radcliffe (Richlands, NC) added a three-pointer, as well. The Tigers finished the opening 20 minutes strong to lead 27-26 at the intermission, getting seven first-half points from Bizzelle.

RMC used a quick 12-2 run to begin the second half and led 38-29 at 14:10 as Hammonds connected on a three-pointer, while Antinori and Hodges each added two points to the early effort. The Yellow Jackets continued their momentum and pushed the margin to 47-30 with 10:52 remaining, and the lead was 60-34 at 5:29. A pair of free throws by Bizzelle, a jumper in the lane from Moye and a jumper by Bizzelle made it 62-40 with 3:15 left, before RMC scored seven of the final eight points toward the final margin.

Bizzelle led H-SC with his 12 points off the bench, including 5-6 free throws, adding one rebound and one assist in 19 minutes. Moye finished with eight points for the Tigers, adding his four rebounds and two assists. Radcliffe, Wright and Stickney each contributed five points … with Radcliffe adding two rebounds and two steals, Wright adding two rebounds and Stickney adding three rebounds, two steals and one assist. White had four points and two rebounds, and Britt had two points and four rebounds. H-SC shot 26% (15-57) from the field, including 15% (3-20) on three-pointers, and 80% (8-10) at the free throw line.

Antinori led RMC with his 15 points off the bench, adding seven rebounds. Hodges finished with his 13 points for the Yellow Jackets, including nine first-half points, while Hammonds had 11 points—leading scorer Jabril Robinson was scoreless in 21 minutes. RMC shot 53% (27-51) from the field, including 50% (8-16) on three-pointers, and 58% (7-12) at the line.

H-SC could return as many as 14 team members for 2026-27, including its three All-ODAC selections in Travis Stickney (2nd Team), Santana Lynch (3rd Team) and Peter Moye (3rd Team).
