FINAL RESULTS
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The Hampden-Sydney College B Golf team posted a final round of 306 on Tuesday for a 36-hole team score of 608 (302-306) to finish third among 14 teams at the
Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial played at the Williamsburg Golf Club in Williamsburg. Freshman
Peyton Lambert (Hartfield) led the Tigers with his 73-76--149 on the par 72, 6,745-yard layout that tied for fifth individually among the 79 collegiate golfers.
Peyton Lambert was followed by freshman
Joseph Weinstein (Midlothian) (75-78--153, T-16th), sophomore
Ryan Porterfield (Cumming, GA) (82-73--155, T-19th), along with senior
Cole Williams (Kenbridge) (78-79--157, T-24th) and sophomore
Pierce Lambert (Hartfield) (76-81--157, T-24th).
Peyton Lambert finished the two days with nine birdies and 14 pars. Weinstein had three birdies and 21 pars. Porterfield had three birdies and 22 pars. Williams had four birdies and 16 pars.
Pierce Lambert had five birdies and 17 pars.
The Tigers' C Team competed in the tournament, as well, and posted a final round of 322 for a 36-hole team score of 646 (324-322) to finish 11th. Junior
Brody Smith (Yorktown) led the group with his 77-73--150 that tied for eighth individually among the 79 golfers. He was followed by junior
Knox Sirmans (Rome, GA) (77-81--158, T-29th), freshman
Tucker Smith (Richmond) (84-82--166, T-53rd), along with sophomores
Jack Davis (Radford) (86-86--172, T-64th) and
Cole Pollard (Manakin Sabot) (86-88--174, T-66th).
Brody Smith posted five birdie and 21 pars over the two days. Sirmans had three birdies and 17 pars.
Tucker Smith had four birdies and 14 pars. Davis had 14 pars. Pollard had four birdies and nine pars.
William Peace (NC) University won the annual tournament with its 304-299--603, while WPU's Nick Barnes was the individual medalist at 72-73--145.
The H-SC B & C (& D) Golf teams have completed overall competition for 2023-24.
