NCAA Division III Fall Preview being played at the Mission Resort & Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. The Tigers stand 21st among the 24 teams in the annual collegiate golf event.
Barnes had five birdies and eight pars during his round of 75 at the par 72, 6,750-yard El Campeon course. Sophomore
Luke Combs (Newport News) is leading H-SC with his 72-76—148 that is tied for 44th among the 120 collegiate golfers. He is being followed by sophomore
Oliver Tobin (Charlotte, NC) (75-76—151, T-68th), Barnes (78-75—153, T-85th), sophomore
Garnet Hall (Richmond) (80-76—156, T-104th) and junior
Nick Bernard (Southern Shores, NC) (85-76—161, 115th). Combs had two birdies and 10 pars. Tobin had one birdie and 12 pars. Hall had one birdie and 12 pars and Bernard had two birdies and 13 pars.
Oglethorpe (GA) is leading the event with its three-under par 284-285—569, while Jackson Hiller of Oglethorpe is the individual leader at nine-under par 66-68—134.
H-SC will continue and complete its competition in the three-day, 54-hole tournament on Tuesday, September 23, on the Resort's Las Colinas course near Orlando.
