Davidson Hubbard Named To 2024 D3hoops.com All-America Third Team

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College senior Davidson Hubbard (Charlotte, NC) has been named to the 2024 D3hoops.com All-America Third Team. This is the 27th year for the annual national awards, as selected by the D3hoops.com staff from nominees for D3hoops.com All-Region.

Hubbard started 33 of 34 games this season, averaging 14.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 29.0 minutes … shooting 47% (203-433) from the field, 32% (48-151) on three-point field goals and 82% (54-66) at the free throw line. He added 31 steals and 14 blocks, and was the team leader in points (508), scoring average, field goals, field goal attempts, rebounds (245), rebound average, offensive rebounds (68) and defensive rebounds (177). Hubbard posted career-highs of 31 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, four blocks, four three-pointers and 37 minutes, along with a season-high three steals. He had 27 double-figure scoring games, including one 30-point game among eight 20-point games, and led the team in scoring 13 times and in rebounding 21 times with five double-doubles and a team-best 19 dunks.

Hubbard was named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List, was the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III National Player of the Week and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week, while named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, and was also named the Al Van Wie/Wooster Rotary Classic MVP. Davidson was previously named National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America Second Team, NABC All-District 6 First Team, D3hoops.com All-Region 6 First Team, as well as All-ODAC First Team. He helped the Tigers to a final school record of 31-3 and just the second NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship National Runner-Up finish in program history (1999).
