WINCHESTER, Va. -- The Hampden-Sydney College B Golf Team posted a 36-hole team score of 294-289--583 to finish fourth among 16 teams at the
SU Invitational on Monday played at the Winchester Country Club in Winchester. Freshman
Owen Sibley (Dallas, TX) led the Tigers with his one-over par 71-72--143 that tied for fifth individually among the 76 collegiate golfers. York (PA) College won the event with its team score of 576.
Sibley was playing in his first collegiate tournament and was followed by sophomores
Cole Wright (Wake Forest, NC) (74-71--145, 8th) and
Jack Hoyle (Midlothian) (72-74--146, T-9th), freshman
Peyton Lambert (Hartfield) (78-72--150, T-17th) and junior
Brody Smith (Yorktown) (77-74--151, T-22nd). Lambert was playing in his first collegiate tournament, as well. Sophomore
Jack Davis (Radford) (77-78--155, T-34th) played as an individual for the Tigers.
The H-SC B Team will compete again at the
O'Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament on October 2-3, a 36-hole tournament to be played at The Cardinal by Pete Dye in Greensboro, North Carolina.
