HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The Hampden-Sydney College B Golf Team posted a first-round score of 285 on Monday to stand first among 17 teams at the
Kinder-Williams Invitational being played at the Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg. Freshman
Jack Barnes (Manakin Sabot) is leading the Tigers with his impressive five-under par 67 that is also first among the 94 golfers on the par 72 layout that includes the Mountain and Lake courses.
Barnes, playing in his first collegiate tournament, is being followed by junior
Knox Sirmans (Rome, GA) (70, T-4th), who was two-under par, along with senior
Tommy Bishop (Jacksonville, FL) (73, T-13th), sophomore
Pierce Lambert (Hartfield) (75, T-25th) and senior
Cole Williams (Kenbridge) (79, T-51st).
H-SC will continue and complete its competition in the two-day, 36-hole tournament with final round action on Tuesday in Harrisonburg.
