HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- No. 16 Hampden-Sydney College has claimed the No. 2 seed in the 2023 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Lacrosse Tournament. H-SC will get a bye to the semifinals, which will take place on Thursday, May 4 at 4 p.m., in Hampden-Sydney. The Tigers will play the winner of Washington and Lee vs Shenandoah that takes place on Tuesday, May 2.

"Earning a top two-seed, first round bye and a home semifinal game is no easy task in the always strong ODAC," said seventh-year head lacrosse coach Jason Rostan '03. "Our team has earned this opportunity through a lot of hard work focus, and preparation during the regular season. We look forward to competing against a strong opponent on our home field this Thursday."

 The Tigers completed the regular season with a 13-4 overall record, including 8-1 in the ODAC, to grab the second seed in this week's conference tournament. H-SC has won eight of its last nine games going into the tournament. The Tigers made it to the ODAC championship a year ago as a fifth seed, taking down fourth-seeded Randolph-Macon and top-seeded Washington and Lee, before falling to second-seeded Lynchburg in the final.

Defending ODAC champion Lynchburg (12-5, 8-1) is the top seed in the tournament after defeating H-SC on Saturday, April 29. The Hornets will play the winner of fourth-seeded Randolph-Macon (12-5, 7-2) and fifth-seeded Roanoke (10-7, 6-3), who play on, May 2. Sixth-seed Bridgewater (8-7, 5-4) was defeated by seventh-seed Shenandoah (8-9, 5-4), 16-10, on, April 30 in the first-round game. The Hornets will now take on third-seeded Washington and Lee (13-4, 7-2) on, May 2.

The ODAC semifinals will take place at both H-SC and Lynchburg on, May 4, with the championship taking place on Saturday, May 6, at the highest remaining seed.
