HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College has been picked fifth in the 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll. The Tigers garnered 64 points in the poll for fifth among the 11 conference schools. "We are looking forward to competing against all these tough opponents," said 19th-year head coach Jeff Kinne. "The players are anxious to prove we can get into the top four in the ODAC in order to earn a first round home series in the tournament."

The University of Lynchburg was picked first with 98 points, including eight first-place votes, ahead of Shenandoah University (93) with the other three first-place votes, followed by Randolph-Macon College (79), Roanoke College (72), H-SC (64), Bridgewater College (53), Washington and Lee University (45), Eastern Mennonite University (33), Ferrum College (30), Virginia Wesleyan University (28) and Guilford College (10).

H-SC returns 24 lettermen, including 13 pitchers, expected to be led by senior first baseman Trey Karnes (Mechanicsville) and senior outfielder Max Lipscomb (Virginia Beach).
