HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College third-year head baseball coach Michael Mulvey has announced the recent appointment of Aaron Miranda as an assistant coach for the program. Miranda had served as a student assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of Saint Francis (IN), during 2025-26, and has been the head coach of the Hialeah Lions in the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League (SFCBL) since 2024.
 
"Aaron has already proven to be a positive impact within the program in a short time," said Mulvey. "His knowledge of the catching position, organization, and professionalism will allow him to make a strong impact within the program. He will work with our catchers and assist in our offensive development. We are very excited to welcome Aaron to Hampden-Sydney."
 
Miranda was the catching coach with a focus on player development at Saint Francis. He also served as the first base coach, assisted with the program's hitting philosophy and undertook recruiting and scouting responsibilities. In the SFCBL, Miranda helped recruit and coordinate the Hialeah roster, planned and executed game strategy and player usage, communicated expectations and oversaw equipment and logistics surrounding the team. He has additional experience as a hitting instructor and lead instructor for summer travel organizations in Northeast Ohio since 2021.
 
Miranda played collegiately at National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) member Bryant & Stratton (OH) College (2020-22), NCAA Division III Illinois Wesleyan University (2023), Division II member Notre Dame (OH) College (2024) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) member Saint Francis (2025). He was a two-time NJCAA First Team Academic All-American at Bryant & Stratton, and completed his collegiate career with a combined batting average of .270 (87-322) in 137 collegiate games.
 
A native of Davie, Florida, Aaron graduated from Saint Francis in 2026 with a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management. He was a Dean's List student at USF.
