Box Score HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College swept the three doubles matches, as well as all six singles contests, for a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's tennis victory past Roanoke College on Tuesday at the H-SC Tennis Courts. The Tigers have won five-straight matches to improve to 10-9 overall, 9-1 in the ODAC, while the visiting Maroons dropped to 7-11 overall, 5-6 in the ODAC.
In doubles, junior brothers Matthew Moody/Raleigh, N.C. and Michael Moody/Raleigh, N.C. won at No. 1, 8-1. Junior Grayson Burns/Waynesboro and sophomore William Driskill/Middleburg won at No. 2, also by a score of 8-1. Junior Clark Cummings/Norfolk and freshman Tyler Brice/Rocky Mount, N.C. won at No. 3, 8-4.
In singles, Matthew Moody, this week's ODAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, won at No. 1 by scores of 6-2, 6-0. Michael Moody won at No. 2 by scores of 6-4, 6-1. Driskill won at No. 3 by scores of 6-1, 6-2. Burns won at No. 4 by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Cummings won at No. 5, also by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Andrew Donelson/McLean won at No. 6 by scores of 6-0, 6-1.
H-SC will complete the regular season against ODAC member Emory & Henry College on Saturday, April 27, at 1 p.m. at the Batten Tennis Center at Hollins University in Roanoke.
