FREDERICKSBERG, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College competed at the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) South/Southeast Division III Regional Championship hosted on the campus of the University of Mary Washington from October 1-4.
 
Competing for the Tigers were senior Thomas Davis (Charlotte, NC), juniors Jonathan Fogle (Midlothian) and James Woerner (Kill Devil Hills, NC), and sophomores Slade Funderburk (Camden, SC), Ben Price (Charlotte, NC) and Ford Robinson (Charlotte, NC).
 
Doubles action saw one pair in the Championship doubles bracket and two pairs in the B2 Doubles bracket. Funderburk and Fogle were the pair that teamed up in the Championship doubles bracket, falling in the round of 64 by an 8-4 scoreline. The B2 bracket saw Price and Robinson paired together, falling 8-2 in the quarterfinals. Davis and Woerner also teamed up in the B2 bracket, winning their quarterfinal match 8-1, then taking an 8(7)-7(5) win in the semifinals, before falling in the championship 8-4.
 
Singles saw Davis compete in the Championship bracket and Price compete in the B3 bracket. Davis, in his round of 64 match, fell 6-1, 6-2, dropping him into the consolation bracket round of 32, and in that match, he fell 8-1. Price in the B3 bracket started his match in the round of 16, falling by a 6-2, 6-1 scoreline. That was where his run ended, as the consolation bracket was not played.
