Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College swept the three doubles matches, as well as the six singles contests, for a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's tennis road win at Bridgewater College on Thursday in Bridgewater. The visiting Tigers have won four-straight matches to improve to 9-9 overall, 8-1 in the ODAC, while the host Eagles dropped to 5-10 overall, 3-5 in the ODAC.
In doubles, junior brothers Matthew Moody/Raleigh, N.C. and Michael Moody/Raleigh, N.C. won at No. 1, 8-3. Junior Grayson Burns/Waynesboro and sophomore William Driskill/Middleburg won at No. 2, 8-4. Junior Clark Cummings/Norfolk and freshman Tyler Brice/Rocky Mount, N.C. won at No. 3, 8-1.
In singles, Matthew Moody won at No. 1 by scores of 7-5, 3-6, 10-3. Michael Moody won at No. 2 by scores of 6-2, 6-0. Driskill won at No. 3 by scores of 4-6, 6-4, 10-5. Burns won at No. 4 by scores of 6-3, 6-4. Cummings won at No. 5 by scores of 6-1, 6-2. Brice won at No. 6 by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
H-SC will return home to welcome ODAC member Roanoke College on Tuesday, April 23, at 4 p.m. … a match that was postponed and rescheduled from April 13 due to rain. It marks the final regular-season home contest for the Tigers.
